Donkey Kong Bananza player beats the game with 0 bananas collected

Donkey Kong Bananza has tons of bananas to collect throughout its many layers, but one players has done what most probably haven’t – which is obtaining zero of them.

Akfamilyhome shared the feat on social media. At this point this is the first time we’re hearing about a player beating Donkey Kong Bananza with 0 bananas collected (at least in terms of sharing that accomplishment online and having it be widely recognized).

Apparently going through the game this way isn’t very difficult early on. However, Akfamilyhome said that once you hit the mid-game, you need to figure out “some neat ways to bypass certain sections during the mid-game”. Once players reach the end, it “forces you to lock in because you die in 1-2 hits”. 

Akfamilyhome also said there isn’t any unique dialogue if you beat it without any bananas. However, there is if you beat it without ever obtaining one of the Bananzas. 

Donkey Kong Bananza is linear in many ways, but offers quite a bit of freedom thanks to its destruction mechanics. One of the things we heard prior to launch is that it’s possible to skip parts of the story.
