Nintendo Switch Online SNES app now supports button mapping, CRT filter updated
A couple of interesting nuggets have come to light following yesterday’s update for the SNES app on Nintendo Switch Online.
First, a big addition is the inclusion of button mapping. If you’re not liking the setup Nintendo has in place for a particular game, you can change things to your heart’s content. And if you mess something up or change your mind, you can always revert to the default mapping.

Elsewhere, as mentioned above, the CRT mode has been updated for the Nintendo Switch Online SNES app. Fans are are saying that its appearance is now similar to that of the N64 and GameCube apps, just with an NTSC S-Video style filter.

These two updates were likely overlooked by many given last night’s excitement. Out of nowhere, Nintendo announced and released Mario Paint on the SNES app for Switch Online worldwide. You can catch up on the news and watch the official trailer here.
