Tales of Berseria Remastered censored

According to Bandai Namco, Tales of Berseria Remastered will be censored worldwide. That news was shared on the official Japanese website.

The game originally came out in Japan about a decade ago, and when the RPG came west, some changes were made. The big one involved censoring a particularly violent scene. We won’t get into it here for spoiler reasons, but you can find a comparison here.

For Tales of Berseria Remastered, Bandai Namco has confirmed that some content will be different from the original Japanese release as the game is now using the overseas version as its base. The violent scene we just mentioned was specifically used as example.

Bandai Namco never really explained why there was some censorship for Tales of Berseria back in the day, but it may have looked to be more compliant with classification ratings. The same thing may now be happening again, though now all parts of the world will be getting a single version of the game.

Tales of Berseria Remastered will be heading to Nintendo Switch on February 26, 2026. In case you missed the first trailer and details, we have that here.
