Farm legendary machine parts Kirby Air Riders

We have a new Kirby Air Riders ready to go focusing on how you can farm Legendary Machine parts.

Anyone looking to 100 percent complete Kirby Air Riders is in for a challenge, because it’s got huge checklists for Air Ride, Top Ride, City Trial, Road Trip, and Online. You’ll need to complete them all in order to earn true 100 percent completion (plus a few other things), and thankfully many of the challenges you’ll need to clear are fairly self-explanatory. That being said, City Trial’s checklist is much more dependent on random luck and field events, meaning it’s probably going to be the one you finish last. Several of the tasks within require that you assemble Legendary Machines, of which there are four. Two of them are Dragoon and Hydra, while the other two are related to the story and are considered spoilers. We’ll be discussing them within, so keep that in mind before you continue.

How to farm Legendary Machine parts

Before we start, it’s important to remember that at the end of the day, whether the game decides to spawn Legendary Machine parts is completely up to chance. We’re just doing things to maximize that chance, and to hopefully capitalize on it when the moment arrives. Generally, I like to set all 15 opponents to Marx – this is because Marx is extremely frail, so if a CPU grabs a machine part, you’ll be able to more easily defeat them. You’ll also want to set the CPUs to a level between 3 and 5. That way they’re easy to defeat, but just smart enough to go after parts. You’ll see Dragoon and Hydra parts pretty frequently, and if you’re trying to get the achievement where you have to assemble two Legendary Machines in one match, I’d recommend going for 7-minute matches.

As for your own character selection, there are a few problems. King Dedede has a decent flight stat and auto-attacks nearby enemies with his hammer, which means he’s quite good at stealing. On the other hand, Daroach’s whole gimmick is stealing items from enemies, so he’s a good pick as well. Starman has high flight maneuverability, so if you want to check the floating islands for machine parts (they appear there very rarely) you can go with him. I usually prioritize the Wing Star and Paper Star during City Trials against CPUs. At a low level, they generally won’t give you much trouble even if you’re on the Paper Star, which is normally very easy to destroy. Wing Star and Paper Star are also the only machines that can feasibly make it to the Halberd when it appears. The Halberd is required for a few achievements as well, and even with those vehicles, you’ll still need plenty of Glide and Top Speed boosts to make it there. If the Halberd event happens during a match but you can’t get there in time, some say that exiting out of City Trial and trying again has a chance of repeating the same events. This can’t be confirmed since Switch 2 game datamines are impossible, however.

Legendary Machine parts also spawn in red boxes, green boxes, and especially rare boxes if you happen to see them. But most importantly, remember that this takes a long time. Gigantes is especially rare, and in many cases this will be the last piece of the checklist you will unlock. Do keep in mind that you have to view the true ending of the game in order for Gigantes parts to spawn during City Trial at all, however.

It’s possible that Kirby Air Riders hosts an event in the future that increases the spawn rate of Gigantes, but that’s unconfirmed and would be far off even if it did happen. In the meantime, if you have any of your own strategies on how to get legendary machine parts to spawn, feel free to let us know in the comments down below.
