Tales of Arise details Nintendo Switch 2 frame rate and resolution
Nintendo Switch 2 is getting its first Tales of game, Tales of Arise, and new details are available covering the frame rate and resolution.
First, let’s talk about frame rate. For the most part, Tales of Arise runs at 30 frames per second on Nintendo Switch 2. The only exception is cutscenes, which bumps things up to 60 FPS. Note that the frame rate may temporarily fluctuate depending on what’s happening on screen.
60 FPS across the board would have been ideal, but this isn’t entirely unexpected. Even on the PS4 Pro, the frame rate was capped at 30 FPS. But the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S versions did have two modes to choose from including one that allowed for 60 FPS, so it’s a shame this won’t be offered on Nintendo Switch 2 as well.
Looking at resolution, Tales of Arise is 1080p. That’s a good number for portable mode as that’s the highest it can go, but might be disappointing if you’re playing docked.
Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on May 22, 2026. You can get a first look at the port here.
