Wii is getting a brand new game in 2026, physical release included
We’re many years past the Wii generation, but believe it or not, 2026 will bring us a brand new game for the old console – and it’s even getting a physical release.
Nai Adventure is cooking up Metal Canary, a shoot ’em up game. You’ll be using the Wii Remote and nunchuck to dodge and shoot enemies just like it’s 2006 all over again. Old Game will be in charge of the physical release.
Nai Adventure actually managed to get the game up and running in Wii in just a few hours. The project is fully playable from start to finish. Right now the developer is working on a few tweaks left and the implementation of a video player.

If you’re not interested in picking it up on Wii, you’ll have to option to go the traditional route with Steam. Also, the team is planning on releasing the game on the SEGA Dreamcast.
In other retro news, we recently learned of some games across retro systems – including Wii – that sold exactly one copy in the U.S. last year. The full list can be found here.
