A bunch of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate details
About.com has composed a lengthy writeup of Nintendo Power’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate article. There are lots of gameplay details to read up on, but it’s most assuring to see that developer Mercury Steam is focusing primarily on exploration, which made the DS games worthwhile experiences.
Head past the break for information (here’s one tidbit: StreetPass/SpotPass are confirmed), a quote from producer David Cox, and a vague release date – it’s coming this year, folks!
– Polygon-based visuals
– Mostly played in 2D and 2.5D
– Occasionally shifts into a fully 3D environment
– Focuses on nonlinear exploration and discovery
– Story takes place 25 years after Lords of Shadow
– Dracula getting ready to give humanity hell
– Trevor Belmont, a young vampire, looking to stop Dracula

Producer Dave Cox
“We felt that traditionally Castlevania games had done well on handheld, and indeed found a home there to a certain extent. The whole team really felt we could do something special and memorable on the format that would immerse players totally. The N3DS has allowed us to create something totally unique and exclusive to the format that we think players are going to absolutely love.”
