A look at the Copilas, Nintendo’s old copy machine
Toarcade has posted a number of photos of the Nintendo Copilas. These copy machines went on sale starting in 1971 for 9,800 yen.
Back in the day, the Japanese government supplied schools nationwide with Copilas machines. Hiroshi Yamauchi, former president of Nintendo, previously mentioned that they were designed to break easily so that the company could earn profits from repairs.
While Copilas machines were originally produced in large numbers, it’s tough to come across them these days – especially one complete in box. It makes for a rare piece of Nintendo history!
