After Brief Remodeling, a New World Awaits at Nintendo World in New York
The Nintendo® World store in New York will close its doors for a few weeks to undergo renovations. The two-story, 10,000-square-foot Rockefeller Plaza store will shut down at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 and reopen at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1. Then on Nov. 7, the store will host a daylong grand re-opening celebration event for consumers.
Some features of the remodel will include:
Expansion of the Nintendo Showcase to twice its original size. The showcase will feature Nintendo products and artifacts in a visually impressive way.
New floors and new lighting.
New interactive stations for Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™.
New graphics throughout the store.
Nintendo World opened its doors in May 2005. Since then it has hosted numerous events to launch video games and systems of all kind. Nearly 4 million people have passed through its doors to sample new and upcoming games, shop for fun Nintendo items or just share their love of Nintendo with other fans.
