Another Space Opera - Episode 1: The Wake of the Giant

Publisher PM Studios and developer Terminist Arcade are teaming up on Another Space Opera – Episode 1: The Wake of the Giant, it’s been announced. The title will end up on Switch in 2023.

Another Space Opera – Episode 1: The Wake of the Giant is a cinematic action platformer that “begins the story of a new epic sci-fi saga with hand-crafted pixel art and a full cast of voice actors to bring the game to life.” Read more about it below.

The story begins at the end of the 23rd century, Earth is united under a gestalt technocratic order – reborn from the ashes of nuclear fire. Now reaching out to explore the stars, humanity finds itself dragged into the crossfire of yet another war: A bloody, supernatural conflict for the fate of the galaxy.

Players will experience this story as it is told over 12 sprawling levels, each with their own environment, beautifully animated characters, and cinematics. This does not have to be a solo adventure, as players can bring a friend along to see the tale of Another Space Opera unfold through 2-player co-op.

The ingredients that make up the unique “Hack-n-Blast” gameplay includes a tightly woven combination of gunplay, dodging, and melee fighting all making for a satisfying combat experience that is easy to learn but difficult to master. This is complimented by the procedurally generated loot which includes countless weapons, each with their own unique stats, appearances, names, and features with which to annihilate your foes.

Take a friend along to destroy over 30 unique enemies and work together to defeat challenging, immense bosses all while an incredible blockbuster cinematic soundtrack blasts in the background.
