Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute, new version of the classic game, gets western release date on Nintendo Switch
Today, Clear River Games shared the news that it will be publishing Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute in the west on Nintendo Switch very soon. It’ll be ready to go digitally on March 21, 2025 digitally and May 22, 2025 physically.
Japan has had access to Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute for almost a year. However, it did not end up launching in North America or Europe. Soon fans overseas will be able to get their hands on the classic game – which launched first on SEGA Genesis and later the SNES – as well.

A 32-bit sequel to the 1990’s game Assault Suit Leynos (known as ‘Target Earth’ in the US) for the Sega Megadrive Genesis system, the winning combination of mech-themed run and gun shooting gameplay and anime inspired artwork, went on to spawn Assault Suit Leynos 2 for the Sega Saturn as well as the much-loved prequel, Assault Suit Valken (Cybernator) for the Super Nintendo system in 1992.
Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute, now fully localised into multiple languages, builds on the winning formula, adding layers of strategy via new systems including multiple, customizable assault suits, a staggering array of imaginative weapons and an auto-aiming difficulty feature that adapts to the skill of the gamer!
