The official Japanese Tri Force Heroes website updated today with some infos about the “world” of the game. Some of the info we already knew about, like the fact that the game consists of 32 levels. At the beginning of each stage, each player picks one out of the following nine weapons:

  • sword
  • bow
  • bombs
  • hookshot
  • boomerang
  • fire gloves
  • water rod
  • ice jar
  • hammer

There are also some additional game modes available:

  • Additional special levels which are based on the original 32 levels but with an added twist, like being forced to complete the level with only one heart or while being chased by a Wallmaster. You will be able to earn rare materials this way.
  • Versus Mode: Fight against other players and earn rare materials.
  • a Boss Rush mode, where (surprise!) you will fight against the various bosses found in the 32 levels.
  • Daily Luck: a minigame where you can also earn rare materials.

The website also reveals that you can take screenshots at any time and post them to Miiverse after completing a level.

After enjoying tremendous success in Japan, Yo-Kai Watch will soon arrive in the West as well. The official website for the cross-media project, called Yo-Kai World, is now open. From there, you can access all kinds of information about the franchise’s various aspects (such as the games, which links to Nintendo’s website).

A new trailer for the English version of the anime has also been published. Check it out below:

Though not very widespread in the West, instant messaging service LINE is extremely popular in Japan. Nintendo has now opened up an official LINE account (@Nintendo) which you can use to “chat” with Toad. Naturally you shouldn’t expect actual responses to your questions – the account seems to use randomly generated phrases to reply.

Still, it might be interesting to see how Nintendo use this to possibly promote their upcoming mobile games.

The folks over at GameXplain found an invincibility glitch in Super Mario Maker. For the glitch to activate, you need to place a door on a set of spikes while ensuring that Mario has a second-tier powerup (Fire Flower, Propeller Hat etc.). You need to step on the spikes and enter the door during the period when Mario is invulnerable after taking damage. When you emerge from the other door, Mario can’t be damaged in any way. Check out the video below which demonstrates the glitch in greater detail:

The black standard-sized New Nintendo 3DS will be available in Australia and New Zealand from October 17th.
