Bandai Namco apologizes for Tales of Symphonia Remastered Switch issues, looking into a fix
Bandai Namco has issued a statement about the Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered, apologizing for issues players have encountered and confirmed that a patch is being explored.
From a technical standpoint, there are a few important problems at present. One such issue concerns long loading times between battles and exploring the world map, which are even longer than they were for the original game. The frame rate isn’t always steady either and can see a fair amount of drops. There are some other technical issues as well.
In its statement about the Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered, Bandai Namco said the following (via Abyssal Chronicles):
“Apology and Information: Thank you for playing Tales of Symphonia Remastered for the Nintendo Switch. We have confirmed that there are currently problems with this version of the game that is on sale. At present, we are currently investigating on a fix.
We will give out information on an update as soon as it is available through this account, so please wait for more info. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to our customers.”
Tales of Symphonia Remastered is based on the PS2 version, but many were hoping that it would be based on the GameCube version. On Nintendo’s older console, the RPG ran at 60 frames per second. The PS2 version is 30, so all versions of the remaster don’t go any higher than that.
In any case, we’ll let you know when a patch is made available for Tales of Symphonia Remastered.
