EA comments on lack of Battlefield 6 Nintendo Switch 2 version
A big Nintendo Direct was held today, but EA made a splash of its own with a blowout of Battlefield 6 – yet it won’t be on Switch 2. The company has now commented on that decision.
Eurogamer was able to speak with EA executive vice president Vince Zampella about the game. As part of that, Zempella said that the company “doesn’t currently” have plans to bring the title over and that Battlefield Studios is currently focused on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
He was probed further and speaking about the decision, he said that the aforementioned platforms are where the core Battlefield audience is present. However, Zempella said that he’s personally “a huge Switch fan”.
While that news will be disappointing for some, EA does at least seem to be showing more support for Nintendo Switch 2 compared to the system’s predecessor. Madden NFL 26 will be on the console whereas the series skipped the original Nintendo Switch entirely. The publisher has actually been active on the platform so far having released or announced Split Fiction, EA Sports FC 26, Apex Legends, and Plants vs. Zombies Replanted.
