Black Heart is this week’s Arcade Archives game on Switch
Hamster has announced the latest classic game entry to its growing Arcade Archives label on the Switch eShop. This week’s new game is Black Heart, arriving digitally on Switch tomorrow. Here are some details on the game from the International Arcade Museum:
Black Heart is a surreal styled side-scrolling shoot-em-up originally developed and published by UPL for arcades in both Japan and the West in 1991. In it, players control a fire breathing dragon to fly through levels and defeat a series of bosses using collectable power-ups. Levels are filled with many smaller enemies, hazardous projectiles, and dangerous traps.
Black Heart allows for both single player gameplay as well as a simultaneous two-player cooperative mode.
Hamster has released a new retro game on the Switch eShop almost every week for multiple years now through its Arcade Archives collection. The label now covers hundreds of classic games from the 1980s and 1990s, many of which were never ported from their original arcade cabinets. You can catch up on what has been added to Arcade Archives, or keep an eye out for new additions, with Nintendo Everything’s coverage here.
Arcade Archives Black Heart is scheduled to launch digitally tomorrow on November 4, and will cost $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29 on the Switch eShop.
