Borderlands 4 won’t have split-screen co-op on Nintendo Switch 2
If you’re planning on picking up Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, you should keep in mind that split-screen co-op won’t be included. On the bright side, there is support for cross-play.
Split-screen co-op will be available on other consoles. However, it won’t be offered on Nintendo’s system, according to a support page. Specifics aren’t provided as to why that is.
A note in the FAQ states the following regarding split-screen co-op for Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2:
“Switch 2 players will have the same exciting Borderlands 4 experience as other platforms minus the split-screen option, and yes, it will have full crossplay with Epic, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S!”
This is somewhat similar to what we saw with WWE 2K25 not too long ago. While other versions of the game supported cross-platform Community Creations and the image uploader, it is unavailable in the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Borderlands 4 comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 3, a bit after the initial September 12 release. We have more coverage surrounding the system here.
