Bread & Fred getting big “Laboratory” update

Infogrames, along with Sand Castles Studio, today shared details about a big “Laboratory” update planned for Bread & Fred.

The update doubles the game’s content with the inclusion of a new 666-meter map. It comes with its own mechanics, NPCs and lore, plus a bunch of new puzzle rooms and secret capybaras. The free content can be accessed after completing the base game in multiplayer to scale to new heights in co-op mode.

Here’s some additional information about the additions:

• All New Platforms:
  • Electronic Platforms: Activated by Buttons, Lasers or Sensors
  • Impulse Platforms: Launch the penguins if they jump at the right time, also activated by Buttons, Lasers or Sensors
  • Rotating Platforms: Platforms that turn automatically
• All New Boss Room: At the top of the lab, players will have to beat 4 different timed puzzles in the same Boss room before the time runs out.
• Secret Capybaras: Traverse through 5 secret zones throughout the Lab, with puzzle challenges that will lead Bread and Fred to each lost Capybara.
