The results are in! After pulling out a name from the magic hat, we finally have a winner for the Super Mario 3D Land contest. Actually, I used a random number generator. Same thing… almost.

In any case, the winning member is: invader_quirk. We’ll be in contact with him soon and will send out a free copy of Super Mario 3D Land.

I do hope that this contest allowed some of you to find a new home. I was surprised to see that quite a few of you weren’t even aware of our forum! Activity on the boards has been buzzing over the past couple of weeks – we all know why that was, though it’d be great if our new members stuck around. I’ve been more than pleased to meet the new members, and I am extremely appreciative of those who have been with us before the contest began.

Also, I might as well mention this now: in the (hopefully near) future I intend to host more forum contests on the site. They could be posts-related (likey with a higher posts requirement) or something completely different. Keep your eyes peeled for updates soon!

Still haven’t visited the forum? You can find it right here.

Reminder: Less than 24 hours remain! Winner will be announced tomorrow afternoon.

For the past several months, I’ve been thinking about ways to get the word out about our forum. We have some incredibly awesome people posting on there in spite of the fact that it’s not the most populated discussion board. It’s true that I don’t mention it much… that doesn’t exactly help things.

While this new idea may not be the perfect solution, what I have in store could be a fun little event. Basically, Nintendo Everything will be giving away a free copy of Super Mario 3D Land. This contest isn’t sponsored by Nintendo or any other company. That alone should prove how much I care about the forum!

The contest will run for two weeks. It starts today, and wraps up on November 13, just in time for the game’s launch. All that is required of you is to sign up on our forum (a simple and quick process), and have fourteen posts in total by the 13th. That means you only have to contribute one post per day. Is that not easy?!

Also keep in mind that registering for our forum provides you with an account on the main site. So, if you make any comments on the “Nintendo Everything news” section, they’ll appear alongside the corresponding post(s).

Once November 13 has come and gone, I’ll select one member at random who has fourteen posts and is a resident of the U.S. or Canada (I’m truly sorry to anyone who resides outside of these territories). I’m also considering giving out a couple of additional prizes to two other members I select, so you may still have a shot at winning something if you’re not the first name out of the hat.

If anything about this contest is unclear, please write a comment, post on the forum, or send us an email through the contact form. Now start posting!

Hi guys,

Some of you might be seeing an advertisement appearing on the bottom of the screen that expands and plays a video. I didn’t authorize this type of unit, so I’m looking to have it removed immediately. It should disappear shortly!

Who’s up for some early morning fun with Nintendo later this morning? I know I am!

In seven hours, Nintendo of Japan will be streaming a “Nintendo 3DS New Information Internet Presentation”. As has been the case with similar events on the site recently, I’ll post the UStream embed video about a half hour before the event begins. Any videos, information, and other significant content that rolls in will be added on the main page as well.

I wouldn’t expect any megatons since Nintendo literally held a major press conference a month ago. If there were some truly huge announcements planned, I’m sure the Big N would have opted for another conference. This event, however, is a pre-recorded show of sorts. There should be some interesting content shown, but don’t set the bar too high! We’ll find out more about Mario Kart 7 and upcoming firmware features for sure. There could be other items that will be discussed, too, such as the complete GBA Ambassador game lineup.

Anyway, it should be well worth a watch. See you all in seven hours!

Just wanted to take a moment to inform you all that the update schedule might be erratic today. Earlier this morning, I had to deal with a family emergency that topped off two months of hellish events that I could probably write about for an hour. Since I don’t have time, though, I won’t!

I’ve already asked Austin if he could step in here and there, so we’ll see what happens with that. I’m still aiming to keep things fairly normal on the site, but if you see periods of inactivity, at least you’ll know that I’m still alive!

The live-stream should begin in about 25 minutes and should run for an hour and a half or so. As I said earlier, I’ll post any announcements, details, trailers, and screenshots to the site as soon as possible.

Level-5’s “Vision” conference will finally be taking place in a little less than twelve hours. It will be live-streamed from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Saturday (Japanese time). This means that it’s scheduled for 10:00 PM – 11:30 PM EDT tonight on the East Coast.

Expect more news on Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Time Travelers, Guild 01, Fantasy Life, Girl’s RPG, Inazuma Eleven Go, the Inazuma Eleven Strikers update for Wii, and more.

I’ll post the live-stream about a half hour before the conference begins. I’ll also publish any details, trailers, and screenshots that are made available.

Some absolutely crazy stuff, that’s what! It’s been a few months, so I guess we were due for an absolute implosion.

What I initially thought was the problem actually wasn’t the problem. As it turned out, our sister site was apparently getting completely hammered by a mysterious force. That caused almost everything to crawl and die (including NE).

Things seem to be in working order now. I’m still somewhat concerned, so I won’t say for sure that everything is completely fixed. I have more optimism than last night though, that’s for sure.

It’s 2 AM here now, so I won’t even bother with updates. Be prepared for an onslaught of catch-up news in a few hours…

Update 2: Okay, NOW we should be good to go. The only remaining issue is logins, which we should fix tomorrow.

Update: It seems we are done! Er… or maybe not. I’ll monitor things and edit this post again when I have more concrete information.

Both sites are accessible right now, but as you’ve probably noticed, things are a bit slow. That’s a result of some important behind-the-scenes stuff going on. It’s basically just a bunch of technical work, so I won’t bore you with the details.

Basically, once it’s complete, things will be back to normal! And again, everything can still be accessed… it may just take you awhile.
