Cooking action RPG Town of Zoz in the works for Nintendo Switch

Humble Games and Studio Pixanoh unveiled Town of Zoz today, which is slated for Nintendo Switch. No release window was provided.

Town of Zoz is a cooking action RPG. Players will take on the role of Ito as he returns to his family’s farm and restaurant in a village shrouded in mystery and ancient curses.

With its blend of exploration, action combat, and heartwarming cooking mechanics, Town of Zoz invites players to uncover the mysteries of a town like no other. After receiving a letter from his parents, Ito reluctantly returns to his family’s farm and restaurant in Zoz. As he settles back into life at home he unravels the town’s past, uncovering dark secrets that linger in the lives of the locals. As one of the last Shaman Chefs in town, Ito will need to use his combat and magic-infused culinary skills to heal the dreams of his community and protect them from a curse that has haunted them for generations.

Along with his spirit companion Zee, Ito will hunt magical food creatures called Nomos which provide him with ingredients used to cook deliciously familiar Latin American-inspired meals. Use these meals to build trust with the townspeople, or eat them to gain powerful buffs that will aid Ito on dangerous quests.

• Action-Fueled Combat: Take advantage of Ito’s skills with his trusty machete as you slash and dodge through enemies while teaming up with several trusted companions. Each one has their own unique skills to dispatch enemies.
• True Soul Food: Food plays a central role in Zoz, with Ito preparing meals that allow him to forge relationships with the townspeople. Give villagers their favorite dishes to strengthen bonds, get to know them better, or consume meals to boost stats for future hunts.
• A Town Full of Stories: Every townsperson has their own unique story, and it’s up to Ito to help them overcome personal nightmares. Help legendary heroes, quirky shopkeepers, and even the Boonbola team, a local sports group, all while discovering secrets hidden beneath the town’s surface.
• Local Co-op Adventure: Join forces with friends for a co-op adventure to explore Zoz together, cooking and fighting side-by-side to save the town.
