Critter Crops, an RPG and management game, coming to Switch
Publisher Freedom Games and developer Skyreach Studio are teaming up to bring Critter Crops to Switch, the two sides have announced. The isometric RPG and management title is tentatively planned for 2023.
In the game, you’ll play as Sylvie, who has been banished from her village for practicing magic. She soon receives a letter inviting her to “Mutter Island” where she can own a mansion in the main town, Mur Mur. Once then, Sylvie sees that there’s nothing there aside from a bag of farming gear and a key to an inn. The game kicks off with the character building a new life on the mysterious island. Players will try to find out who invited her to the island and why.
Critter Crops features farming, and it turns out that what you grow becomes a magical creature. These creatures have abilities that can help Sylvie traverse the wilds of Mutter Island. Her magical talents will expand throughout the game and creatures will help bring Mur Mur back to life. You’ll gather resources, restore the town, and potentially attract new settlers. The end goal is to unlock the sealed mansion and uncover the identity of the one that invited her to the area.
While exploring the island, Sylvie will come across visitors. You can get to know them and find out what gifts they might like such as novels, herbs, craftable items, or critter crops. Try to convince travelers “to potentially make their stay a permanent one and learn more about their story, how they find themselves on Mutter Island, along with extra quests and objectives for Sylvie to accomplish.”
