Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz details: story, Mind Tree, Stance Change, more
Today, Arc System Works released the first major batch of information on Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz, the latest entry in the Jake Hunter Detective Story series. Credit goes to Gematsu for the translation. We’ve summarized the most important points below:
Introduction
The game’s story was written by Hirotaka Inaba, who was also responsible for the story in “Jake Hunter Detective Story: At the End of the Dream”.
Story
“A sorrowful event engraved into the memories of the people of New York City.” The story of this game is set before “Jake Hunter Detective Story: At the End of the Dream” and serves as a prequel and an origin story for Jake Hunter.
Mind Tree
A visualization of Jake Hunter’s thoughts. By gathering information and evidence while investigating, this tree will bear “Fruits of Thought”. Using those will allow you to move forward to the Clarification Phase to get to the truth of each case.
Stance Change
If your usual methods don’t work, you can try a Stance Change – by using this during conversations and investigations, it might become easier to get information out of someone or discover something new.
Investigation System
During investigations, you can explore the scene at a full 360 degrees and examine every detail from Jake Hunter’s perspective.
Evolved Graphics and New Character Visuals
The game’s visuals and character models have been updated to reflect a more modern adventure game standard while still staying true to the series’s roots and unique style.
Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz will be released on Nintendo Switch in Japan sometime this year. A Western release has not yet been announced.
