Dragon Buster is this week’s Arcade Archives game on Switch
Hamster has been porting classic arcade games to the Switch eShop nearly every week for several years through its Arcade Archives label. The collection of retro games has grown to span hundreds of titles.
This week, they are continuing the practice by bringing the RPG Dragon Buster to the platform. Below the break are some details on the game from the International Arcade Museum:
Dragon Buster is a single-player RPG originally released for arcades by Namco in 1984 before being ported to the Famicom in Japan.
Game Introduction
An action role-playing game in which Clovis, the “Dragon Buster” of the title, travels through various scenery to rescue Princess Celia from an evil dragon. Afterwards, the game begins again, with Celia wearing a different outfit each time she’s rescued.
Miscellaneous
Unlike most of Namco’s previous games in which you had three lives and lost a life after getting hit once, in this game you only have one life, but you have a vitality meter. When you lose all of your vitality, the game ends.
Arcade Archives Dragon Buster is scheduled to launch digitally tomorrow on December 9, and will cost $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29 on the Switch eShop.
