E3 2013 – Nintendo Everything’s Plans

Posted on June 8, 2013 by (@NE_Austin) in Podcast Stories, Site updates

If you listen to our podcast, you’re probably well aware that we will be attending E3 this year. Laura, Jack, and myself (your regular podcast crew, as it were) will be walking the show floor, playing games, and causing trouble all three days of the show, with the sole purpose of trying to provide an entertaining and informative (risky, eh?) look at what the heck is going on there.

If you want to know how to follow the action, hit the break. I’ve made it easy enough to read through our plans.

1) Podcasts every night!

The sturdy pillar on which all of our E3 coverage will stand is “Here’s a Podcast”, NintendoEverything’s weekly podcast since 45 weeks ago. Every night, right after leaving the show floor, we’ll be gathering around some sort of microphone and giving our impressions on everything we played, heard, saw, or experienced during the 8 hours prior. These podcasts should be uploaded by 9PM PST every evening, if not earlier.

If you have requests, questions, or comments about what you’d like us to discuss, please email us at [email protected]

2) Written Impressions

Yet another staple of any website’s E3 coverage is the “written impression”. We’ll be playing all of the best Nintendo-console games, and anything that sticks out particularly strongly to us during the week will be written about extensively and posted on the site every evening. Anything that we played but was slightly less interesting will be written about after we get back due to time constraints.

Any questions/suggestions on what to cover or what to make note of while playing a game? Let us know in the comments!

3) Booth Tours

This one was Brian’s idea: We’ll take you on guided, first person tours of the most important booths (Nintendo’s) at E3, giving you the best possible look at what it actually feels like to be there. It’s something that I wished people would have done when I wasn’t going to E3, so now we’re going to bring it right to you! Video content will likely not be uploaded until we return home, as internet at E3 tends to be positively terrible.

If there’s a booth in particular you would like us to do a guided tour of, please let us know in the comments!

4) Off-Screen Footage

Of course, yet another staple of E3: We’ll be gathering off-screen footage of the latest Nintendo games, including the new Mario, Wind Waker HD, and Mario Kart U. Video content will likely not be uploaded until we return home, as internet at E3 tends to be positively terrible.

If you have a game you want off-screen footage of? Leave a comment down below.

5) News… a whole lot of news

I have nothing to do with this one, but I should let you know that every single piece of news relating to Nintendo that comes out of the show will be covered by NE mastermind Brian, as always. This means he’ll get to spend roughly 16 hour a day sitting in front of a computer screen, so send him good vibes to help him stay awake and alert!

6) Twitter-y Things

If you can’t wait until the evening to hear what we think about games/events, we have two Twitter accounts you can follow to get our up-to-the-minute thoughts:

Austin’s Twitter

Austin’s twitter will be almost purely text, but he will do his best to live-tweet during the pre-E3 Nintendo event and the Pokémon X/Y event from his phone (since the internet probably won’t work properly).

Laura’s Twitter

Laura has been tasked with using her intelligent phone to post images on the fly, so if you’re looking for her thoughts as well as a bit of multimedia, follow that account.

If you have anything else in particular you want us to do, post a comment and we’ll see if we can’t work something out. Otherwise… happy E3! Nintendo Direct in just 5 days!
