Escape Trick: The Five Dangerous, Secret Rooms launched on the Japanese 3DS eShop

There’s a new Escape Trick game available through the Japanese 3DS eShop. As the name implies, Escape Trick: The Five Dangerous, Secret Rooms is all about… escaping. It also has some elements that are similar to Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward.

– Something goes wrong at what was supposed to be a friendly get-together at a bar.
– Main character is Kentaro Sagara
– Kentaro goes out for a friendly drink with his old college buddies
– Kentaro ends up falling asleep at the bar
– He eventually wakes up to the cold feeling of concrete on his face, in what seemed to be some sort of a confined secret room
– Kentaro isn’t sure where his friends are and is in a closed-off room with no windows
– Mysterious voice tells him from a speaker that he’s been chosen as the first player of a game, and must find a way to escape
– Kentaro isn’t able to open the door, but notices there are’s some sort of sensor rather than any key holes
– This is only the game’s prologue
– Need to use observational skills
– Touch screen used to solve different riddles and tricks
– Orthodox “escape” game with a mix of mind boggling story elements and attractive characters
– Many puzzles are solved with the memo function
– This lets you take notes for your puzzles and take pictures
– Room may initially seem empty, but you’ll come across different items
– Items can also be synthesized together for a new use, which will be a key factor in finding your way out
– Obtain achievements by reaching certain conditions
– Those who beat the game with a high achievement rate will see a little something extra
– Beginner Mode available
– In it, Kentaro speaks his mind and provides hints on your current objective
– No hints in Veteran Mode
