Fans Can Be Among the First to Purchase Pokémon X and Pokémon Y at Launch Event in Rockefeller Plaza
Event for Nintendo 3DS Games to Feature Costume Showcase, Game Play, Fan Activities
WHAT: To celebrate the releases of the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games for Nintendo 3DS, fans are invited to the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Launch Celebration event. The epic event will feature fans dressed up as their favorite characters from the Pokémon games. Fans who come in costume will have the opportunity to participate in a costume showcase on a large stage. The Launch Celebration event will also include a gaming lounge filled with several game-play kiosks that will let attendees play Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, a booth offering Pokémon photo opportunities, Pikachu costumed character appearances and large inflatable depictions of Xerneas and Yveltal, the Legendary Pokémon from the games. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for Nintendo 3DS will be available for purchase at the event at midnight, and Nintendo World will stay open through the night to accommodate fans. Nintendo 2DS, the newest member of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, will also be available for purchase at the event. Nintendo 2DS plays all Nintendo 3DS games, including Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, in 2D, in addition to the huge existing library of Nintendo DS games. The event will be the place to be for Pokémon super fans.
