New data gives us a look at Japan’s best-selling games of April 2024.
This doesn’t happen often, but it wasn’t a Switch game that took the top spot this month. Princess Peach: Showtime did come in at #2. As for new releases, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes appears at #4 with a little over 40,000 copies sold.
Here’s the full list of Japan’s best-selling games of April 2024:

2. [NSW] Princess Peach: Showtime – 45,598 / 150,418
3. [NSW] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 43,404 / 5,812,012
4. [NSW] Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes – 41,009 / NEW
5. [NSW] Super Mario Bros. Wonder – 32,539 / 1,836,286
For those interested in hardware, 250,512 Switch systems were sold during the month. This is a slight drop, though there were only four weeks of tracking data this time around rather than five, and most Golden Week sales aren’t included.
Nintendo was again the top publisher with 346,000 pieces of physical software sold. The next closest was Sony at 89,000 copies, and 505 Games in third with 65,000.
