Most of the list is comprised of new releases. For Nintendo Switch games, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition places the highest at nearly 90,000 copies sold. Yu-Gi Oh! Early Days Collection and Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster are also here for new releases.
Here’s the full list of Japan’s best-selling games of March 2025:
1. [PS5] Monster Hunter Wilds – 776,395 / NEW

Nintendo tends to be the top publisher, but that wasn’t actually the case here. The company settles for second with Capcom coming in on top. Nintendo did sell 403,000 pieces of software at retail, which was in part boosted by the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.
Looking at hardware, that’s one thing which is still the same. The Nintendo Switch family of systems sold 171,921 units, which is about the same as the previous month’s amount of 167,188. However, one thing to note is that March accounted for an extra week of sales data.
