Sakurai thinks he’ll be able to share Kirby Air Riders information soon

There are a lot of question marks surrounding the rest of Nintendo’s Switch 2 lineup for the rest of the year, including Kirby Air Riders. Outside of the initial reveal back in April, we haven’t heard about the project at all. Making things stranger is the fact that the game is supposed to launch this year, even though we’ve yet to see any actual footage.

We do at least have a brief status update from director Masahiro Sakurai. Just a few minutes ago, Sakurai shared on social media that he thinks he’ll be able to share more information about the game soon. We’re already in mid-August, so fans are wondering what’s happening with the project.

That update comes as Sora celebrates its 20th anniversary. After spending nearly fifteen years at HAL Laboratory, Sakurai left the studio and established his own company. That’s what turned out to be Sora. Sakurai said the anniversary may not matter to most people, but thanked everyone for their support.
