Our coverage of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Legendary Pokemon continues with a Lunala location guide, including its exact location on Paldea’s map and how to spawn it via the Indigo Disk DLC.

Lunala and its counterpart Solgaleo are part of a pair of Legendary Pokemon that first debuted in Sun and Moon back in 2017. Though Cosmog is not natively available in this game, you can transfer it in from Pokemon Home. In that case, Cosmog evolves from Cosmoeom into Solgaleo in Pokemon Scarlet, while in Pokemon Violet it evolves from Cosmoem into Lunala instead.

Just like the rest of the Legendary Pokemon in The Indigo Disk, Lunala only spawns in Paldea after you activate it via an item called the Lunala Snack. You can get this item from Snacksworth, who appears at the entrance of Blueberry Academy and hands out random Legendary snacks. Every time you complete 10 Solo Quests or 1 Group Quest, you will receive a random Legendary snack and Lunala can be one of them. Once you’ve obtained the snack, it will activate. The location for Lunala in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is on the west side of Paldea, kind of southwest of Casseroya Lake at the edge of a cliff.

As with the other Legendary Pokemon, Lunala is encountered at Level 70. Its moves are mostly offensive, but it does have Phantom Force. That means it can make itself invulnerable to Poke Balls for a turn at a time, which might make the capturing process take a whole lot longer. It’s also immune to False Swipe, so we’d recommend saving in front of Lunala so you don’t accidentally knock it out. And if you’re looking to catch it in a matching Poke Ball, try a Moon Ball or Heal Ball.

We have guides available for more Legendary Pokemon locations, and you can find our master list of them through this link. Feel free to let us know if you have any suggestions for future guides, too.
