Madden NFL and FC for Nintendo Switch 2 to offer feature parity with consoles “as much as the hardware allows”
During last week’s Nintendo Direct, EA announced Madden NFL and FC for Switch 2. That means the big sports franchises will be appearing at some point, though we’re not quite sure as to what’s planned at the moment.
Commenting on its recent Nintendo Switch 2 announcements, EA said:
“We’re excited to bring two of our most beloved franchises – EA Sports FC and Madden NFL – to Nintendo’s Switch 2, giving fans even more ways to play the sports they love, anytime and anywhere. Both experiences are being built specifically for the new handheld platform, grounded in what fans enjoy from our franchises across platforms. We look forward to sharing more soon.”
EA was also asked about whether or not there would be feature and / or visual parity with current-generation consoles. In response, the publisher said:
“We’ll share more details on the Madden NFL and FC experiences for Switch 2 at a later date, but our goal is always to deliver a consistent player experience across platforms as much as the hardware allows.”
Madden NFL was a major get for Nintendo. The game is always a big seller in the United States and was completely absent on the current Nintendo Switch.
As for FC, fans are hoping that the version for Nintendo Switch 2 will be on par with its PlayStation and Xbox counterparts. EA’s soccer / football offerings on Nintendo’s current system were often lacking as the company released many “Legacy Editions” year after the year without almost no changes. However, starting with EA Sports FC 24, the Nintendo Switch versions were built with Frostbite and were more comparable to other platforms.
EA is mostly keeping quiet on what it has in store for Nintendo Switch 2. The company is only noting that the Madden NFL and FC “experiences” are “designed for the Switch 2.”
