Compile Heart and Hyde are bringing Magical Librarian Ariana: The Books of the Seven Heroes to Nintendo Switch, the two sides have announced. A release is planned for August 21, 2025 in Japan – the western version should follow later.

Magical Librarian Ariana: The Books of the Seven Heroes is a side-scrolling action RPG. In the game, Ariana will need to use her special magic to enter books and repair them while solving the mystery hidden in the library.

Here’s some additional information:

1,500 years ago, there was a person who brought magic to humanity. That person gifted mankind four magic books called “The Books of the Four Elements,” which produce magic power, and a “Magic Pen” that creates magic books.

Once humanity learned of the concepts of “magic” and “magic power,” they used the Magic Pen to create various magic books.

Among those books, three known as “The Books of the Three Phenomena” were said to possess magic power comparable to the Books of the Four Elements. These seven books are collectively called “The Books of the Seven Heroes,” and the facility for managing and mending magic books is called the “Library.”

Present day-.

An incident breaks out in the Library, a vast aggregation of knowledge and the source of all magic power. Someone has tampered with the Books of the Seven Heroes.

As a result, magic disappeared from the world…

Ariana the librarian’s mission is to restore the Books of the Seven Heroes, which have been tampered with. By using her special librarian magic to enter books, will Ariana be able to successfully repair all seven books and solve the mystery of the Library?
