Many more Zelda: Skyward Sword details
A number of publications got their hands on a near-final build of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword recently. A ton of different details have been shared between multiple sites. We’ve posted all of the information in one convinent place – just head past the break
– It’s possible to run without sprinting, but sprinting is obviously faster
– Stamina meter can be replenished with green bulbs
– You’ll be asked to catch a cat-like creature, Ming (Zelda’s pet) by a professor
– This quest will have you running on top of rooftops
– Zelda considers Link to be a starry-eyed boy who is not fit for Knighthood
– Zelda’s father isn’t in agreement, points to Link’s connection to the Crimson Loftwing
– Link gets pushed off a cliff by Zelda (during scene where it looks like they’ll kiss); it takes Link’s Loftwing awhile to arrive, so Zelda gets on her bird and helps Link
– Link can keep his practice sword after you tell the fighting instructor about your situation
– Skyloft has a pumpkin patch; can stab a pumpkin and it’ll stick to the end of your sword
– Get the pumpkin off your sword by executing a throwing motion
– During the bird race, Groose’ group will throw bombs at you
– You’ll obtain a mystical shard that fits into the carving at the base of the Goddess Statue as you race
– Zelda tells Link he should do some base-jumping from the statue to test out his sailcloth
– Link doesn’t seem to know about compliments that Zelda dishes out at one point
– Mysterious cave area resides behind a waterfall
– B button: use the sailcloth while falling from a great distance
– Fi’s sole purpose is to guide the one who wields the Skyward Sword
– Link can open a green beam of light that hits the clouds using a stone piece
– Link gets his shield from his headmaster
– Townspeople tell you that you should obtain a potion
– Basic store offers shields, bombs, deku seeds
– Potion shop owner will provide you with a potion as he’ll take pity on you
– Item storage offered in a separate shop
– Last shop offers weapons and item crafting
– Switch to first-person mode with the C button
– Can walk around in first-person mode
– Shimmy along a ledge to make Link jump left and right (Wii MotionPlus)
– Zelda is asked to play the part of “the Goddess” in the Wing Ceremony
– Groose apparently kidnaps Link’s Loftwing
– Link’s Loftwing is in a cage, boarded up with long planks; cut the ropes at the ends of the boards to free the bird
– As Zelda helps, she explains that she’s heard a far-away voice calling out to her
– Wooden air docs can be found throughout Skyloft
– When you run off the edge of a cliff, press the d-pad to call Link’s Loftwing
– Dive forward with A on your Loftwing
– Loftwing will slow down when you hit B
– Groose loves Zelda
– He takes a trophy from a flying golden bird
– Zelda is the one who provides you with the sailcloth, which she made herself
– Fi draws Link away, around waterfalls, up cliffs, to the top of a mountain near Skyloft; she guides Link to the Goddess Sword
