Mario Kart World is Nintendo’s big launch game, but it turns out some help was provided by Monolith Soft.

Monolith Soft is largely known for the Xenoblade Chronicles series. However, it does have two branches that have been involved with other Nintendo titles previously.

For Mario Kart World, Monolith Soft said it worked with Nintendo on field and character designs. That news was shared on the developer’s official website today.

This is now one of several Nintendo titles Monolith Soft has contributed to over the years. Others include Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, the Splatoon series, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Pikmin 3. Interestingly though, this is the company’s first Mario Kart game it worked on.

The last release from Monolith Soft itself was Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition back in March. Fans are currently hoping that the game will be getting a 60 FPS upgrade on Nintendo Switch 2 following a previous datamine.
