Monster-hunting Nintendo Switch action game Dauntless shutting down
In just a few short months, Dauntless will be shutting down for good. This appears to apply to all currently supported platforms.
A notice about the game’s status was posted on Steam today. Phoenix Labs plans to fully close up the game on May 29, 2025. It’s been announced that there will not be any further content or updates.
No specifics were provided in the announcement about why the game is shutting down. However, Phoenix Labs has had a rough go as of late, and earlier this year, the company let go the majority of its development team.
Dauntless, Phoenix Lab’s Monster Hunter-esque game, landed on Nintendo Switch at the very end of 2019. The studio most recently released Fae Farm – also available on the console – which you can read about here.
For the time being, you can grab Dauntless on the Nintendo eShop – but it’ll be unavailable to play once May 29 rolls on by.
Thanks to Phoenix Labs for the news above.
