Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition no DLC

According to a statement from Nintendo, the company’s new Switch 2 Edition for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won’t include the game’s Expansion Pass DLC. That additional content will be sold separately as was the case on Nintendo Switch and Wii U.

The game itself costs $70 on its own. If you’re interested in the Expansion Pass, that’ll cost another $20. For players looking to grab everything there is to offer, the whole thing will set them back $90.

If you already have The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and a Nintendo Switch Online membership at the Expansion Pack tier, there is at least one benefit. The Switch 2 upgrade will be available at no extra cost – this applies to Tears of the Kingdom as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will feature 60 frames per second, higher resolution, and HDR as part of its graphical improvements. There’ll be faster loading times as well. Support is also included for Zelda Notes – functionality tied to the Nintendo Switch app – which offers various functionality such as the ability to help you find things like Koroks and Shrines with voice navigation.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches alongside the console on June 5, 2025. Find more news about the system here.
