Every now and then you hear about an uplifting customer service story, and Nintendo is now receiving praise for how it handled the repair of a child’s Switch system.

Fumie Wakabayashi, the child’s mother, sent in the console to Nintendo after it broke. The issue is that her son placed chocolate bar stickers on the device which meant a lot to him. Given how damaged the console was, the family didn’t believe they’d be getting them back. But much to the mother’s surprise, when Nintendo sent back the fixed Switch, the package also included a sheet containing the stickers as well – all of which were fully preserved. Wakabayashi ended up in tears with how happy she was.

The story doesn’t end there. Since Nintendo returned the stickers in perfect condition and they had some adhesion left, the child was able to put back the stickers on his Switch as if nothing happened.

It turns out that this isn’t a one-time thing for Nintendo customer support service in Japan. In Maidona News’s report, the outlet recaps comments from others involving preserved stickers. Nintendo even returned cash that someone left in battery cases sent along with the repair, and the company included a letter telling the customer to be careful since batteries will age and will damage bills.
