Nintendo reveals Japan’s best-selling digital games for December 2025 – Metroid Prime 4 in top 10 for Switch 2, but absent on Switch 1
Nintendo recently shared new data revealing the best-selling games on the Japanese Switch 2 and Switch eShops for December 2025.
December brought along a couple of notable games, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – it hits #8 on Nintendo Switch 2, but isn’t in the top 20 on Switch. Metroid hasn’t been a particularly popular franchise in Japan and Beyond has been pushed as a game for Nintendo’s latest console, so that likely impacted placement. Meanwhile, Octopath Traveler 0 places on both charts.
