Nintendo sees Inazuma burst back onto UK screens with CITV (Europe)
– Nintendo’s hugely popular “football meets action role-play” games series, Inazuma has been picked up by CITV. The manga styled TV series launched on CITV on Monday 23rd July and will run on weekday mornings at 7.05am.
The TV series follows the journey of Mark Evans, a very talented goalkeeper who sets out to find and recruit members for his football team. With his determination and love for football, Mark leads his teammates to compete all over the world including the Football Frontier Internationals, the biggest football championship. The animated series, based on the video game series of the same title, was produced by OLM Inc.
Jamila Metran, Programme Manager, CITV said: “We are very pleased to have secured Inazuma Eleven for broadcast on CITV. The series has proved to be internationally popular and we believe CITV is an ideal home for the programme.”
The Inazuma Eleven franchise is available exclusively on Nintendo DS™ family of consoles. In the latest edition, which launched in the UK later this year, Mark Evans and the Raimon Eleven team have their school attacked by invaders from outer space from the mysterious Alius Academy. They plan to use a destructive brand of football to totally destroy the world –the Raimon Eleven can defeat them in a series of football matches! Only by travelling across the whole of Japan and recruiting the country’s best football players can Mark and the Raimon Eleven find a way to stop Alius Academy and save the world!
Captivating anime sequences enrich the storyline in this adventure and players are able to scour the country to hunt for potential team mates. There are over 1000 in-game characters which you can scout, each one with their own statistics, unique skills and special abilities. In addition if you connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi connection there are over 50 additional characters that can be recruited to your team. It is up to you to craft a team from your players with the abilities that support your strategic approach to the game.
