Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a YouTube app
Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t have any media apps yet, but we now have confirmation that YouTube has plans to support the console.
That news comes from the company’s social media account. YouTube says it’s “working with Nintendo” to make an app happen, though no further details were shared. That includes any news about release timing – YouTube only says it’s coming “soon”.
YouTube previously came to the original Nintendo Switch in November 2018. That was quite a bit after the console’s March 2017 launch. We’re hopeful that the turnaround this time around won’t be as long.
YouTube is one of a few apps not supported on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has also confirmed that Hulu, Crunchyroll, Niconico, ABEMA, and InkyPen are not compatible with the new system. You can find more information about backwards compatibility here.
