Nintendo Switch 2’s best-selling digital games for launch month revealed
Newzoo compiled new digital data and published a report that offers insight into the best-selling Nintendo Switch 2 games during launch month in June. The information is based on sales from six key markets: United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
The top five best sellers were Deltarune, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Mario Kart World, Minecraft, and No Man’s Sky in that order. Minecraft doesn’t have its own Nintendo Switch 2 version, but has Switch 1 backwards compatibility. Keep in mind that sales from the Mario Kart World hardware bundle are not factored in.
We also have a look at the rankings based on revenue. The top five is Mario Kart World, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, Cyberpunk 2077, No Man’s Sky, and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.
Next up, there’s important information available based on monthly active users. The top five here is Mario Kart World, Fornite, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
A key takeaway here is that players seem to be pretty interested in revisiting certain games that get technical upgrades – whether through backwards compatibility or paid upgrades. Mortal Kombat 11 actually saw a big growth in monthly active users, and there were similar trends with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild.
Speaking of backwards compatibility, Nintendo recently fixed a bunch of Switch 1 games for Switch 2. We have the full list here.
