Nintendo’s HackerOne program no longer rewarding 3DS bug bounties

Posted on July 1, 2020 by in 3DS, News

Today, dataminer Oatmealdome received an email notification from HackerOne stating that 3DS bug bounties were being dropped after July 15 due to the 3DS’s current security situation. Take a look at the full email below.

Nintendo had teamed up with HackerOne in 2016 as an initiative to locate and resolve security vulnerabilities on the 3DS, and would offer up to $20,000 as a reward for finding these flaws to prevent things such as piracy and cheating on the platform. 3 years ago, the program was extended to cover the Switch series of consoles as well, and these bounties are seemingly still to be offered.
