Point-and-click adventure game Adventures of a Cat in Space planned for Nintendo Switch

Tall Story Games will soon be putting Adventures of a Cat in Space on Nintendo Switch, the studio has announced. A release window was not provided.

Adventures of a Cat in Space is a point-and-click adventure game that’s also described as an interactive musical title. You’ll play as a role stranded in space, and the end goal is to make it back home.

The Galaxy is about to get a whole lot fluffier with the arrival of a new interactive musical game for families entitled Adventures Of A Cat In Space. Designed for players of all ages, but especially aimed at families, this cosy point-and-click game combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and original songs and music to create an exciting adventure that will have families singing along while they journey through the galaxy.

Commissioned by The Space, Adventures Of A Cat In Space is a collaboration between family music specialists Little Seeds Music, and narrative game developers Tall Story Games. Together, they’ve created an exciting new gaming experience where music and story come together in harmony, providing families with a hilarious interactive experience

Players take on the role of a cat stranded in space after an unexpected mishap. To make their way back to Earth, they must explore a vast and colourful array of planets, solve puzzles, and unlock songs that will help guide them home. They are aided in their quest by the ship’s computer, voiced by Olivier award winning actor and musician Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Legends of Tomorrow), who also performs the game’s main theme song.

The game features 11 original songs, all composed by critically acclaimed musician and children’s author David Gibb. The songs take in a wide array of genres as Gibb himself explains: “I wanted this game to be full of musical surprises and be something really joyful that parents and children can experience together. As they travel through the galaxy exploring planets they’ll get to hear rock, pop, drum and bass, jazz, funk, soul and a whole lot more. We’ve also recruited some incredible vocalists and performers for the soundtrack and I’m so excited to be able to share these songs in this unique and exciting format. Also the cat is hella cute.“

Award-winning studio, Tall Story Games, have a reputation for developing humorous narrative-driven adventure games, with an impressive number of global awards and nominations under their belt. Supported by a whole album of original songs, Adventures of a Cat in Space promises to be a uniquely fun, engaging experience which combines the magic of musical theatre and interactive storytelling for players of all ages.
