Pokemon Legends: Z-A timeline placement revealed
As the embargo lifts for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, some interesting details have started to surface, including where the game fits in the Pokemon timeline.
With the previous Legends game, Arceus, players were flung into the distant past. However, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is essentially modern day (though technically in the future compared to Pokemon X and Y). But we now have official clarity about the timeline placement.
According to information shared by IGN, which already has early access to the game, Z-A actually takes place just five years after the events of Pokemon X and Y. It’s not a time travel story, but rather a direct sequel that continues many of the characters and storylines introduced in X and Y.
IGN says that some characters have “dramatically changed” compared to how they were in the Nintendo 3DS RPGs. The outlet also mentions that players will learn more about what happened to various characters, discovering how their stories have evolved over time.
Curious to see for yourself? You won’t have to wait much longer, Pokemon Legends: Z-A launches soon on Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2. In case you missed it, images of some new Mega Evolutions via leaks can be found here.
