7 Star Skeledirge guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The 7 Star Skeledirge Tera Raid Battle Event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now, and we have a guide for potential checks and counters. It continues from now until March 13, after which the Quaquaval Tera Raid Battle event will become active instead. This Skeledirge is Tera Fire, so you’ll need to bring Pokemon who resist or are immune to its Torch Song attack, which can easily cause Skeledirge to snowball out of control. If you’re looking to topple this powerful opponent, have a look at our tips and strategies down below.
7 Star Skeledirge guide
As mentioned before, 7 Star Skeledirge is running Tera Fire, which means its signature Torch Song attack is powered up. It also leaves it weak to Ground, Water, and Rock-type moves. At the beginning of the battle, Skeledirge uses Disarming Voice and Flame Charge. For its standard moveset, it uses Hyper Voice, Torch Song, Shadow Ball, and Stomping Tantrum. Every time Skeledirge uses Torch Song, its Sp. Attack is raised, which becomes very dangerous. Our strategy flips Torch Song on its head by causing it to lower 7 Star Skeledirge’s Sp. Attack instead! As a side note, you may occasionally get a CPU Drifblim that uses Shadow Ball. When Skeledirge has Contrary, Drifblim’s Shadow Ball will sometimes raise its Sp. Defense instead. For the best chance of winning, make sure you don’t have a CPU Drifblim.
You’ll need two players to use our strategy: one with Malamar and one with Golduck. For Malamar, you’ll want a Careful Nature and the moves Light Screen, Night Slash, Rain Dance, and Skill Swap plus the Contrary Ability. Make sure you have a Light Clay item, 252 EVs in HP and Special Defense, and a Tera type of Dark. For Golduck, you’ll need a Shell Bell for an item, a Modest nature, the Swift Swim Ability, 252 EVs in Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense, and the only two moves you need are Surf and Nasty Plot plus a Tera type of Water. At the start of the battle, have Malamar use Skill Swap to get Contrary onto Skeledirge. Then, set up Light Screen and eventually Rain Dance. 7 Star Skeledirge will lower its own Sp. Attack with Torch Song, and become pitifully weak. Set up three Nasty Plots with Golduck and have Malamar Heal Cheer as needed. Then attack with Surf, and set up three Nasty Plots one last time when Skeledirge clears its negative effects. Have Golduck Terastallize as soon as possible to increase the strength of its Water moves even further. With this setup you shouldn’t have much trouble taking down 7 Star Skeledirge at all.
