7 Star Venusaur Tera Raid Battle guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
One announcement from the recent Pokemon Presents was new 7 Star Tera Raid Battles for Scarlet and Violet. One such event is 7 Star Venusaur, which is currently live.
Venusaur is a tough one – certainly one of the toughest yet. Even with adequate preparation, it took us a few tries to take it down. At the beginning of the match, Venusaur uses Sunny Day to activate its Chlorophyll Ability, and then it uses Growth to sharply boost its offenses. From there, it knows Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, and Earth Power as its attacking moves, plus Amnesia to boost Special Defense. The event lasts until March 5.
7 Star Venusaur guide
Like we mentioned earlier, this one is difficult. The best Pokemon we found for 7 Star Venusaur is Chesnaught, who naturally resists Giga Drain and Earth Power. Its Hidden Ability, Bulletproof, also renders it completely immune to Sludge Bomb. It can boost up its attack with Belly Drum or Swords Dance (the former being riskier while the latter is safer) and then attack with Seed Bomb. We’d recommend running Drain Punch plus Shell Bell as an item, and then 252 EVs in HP and Sp. Defense. With this build, we recommend just attacking Venusaur with Seed Bomb until it clears your stat changes. From there, you can Tera Grass and build up your attack power with Seed Bomb. Then, use Seed Bomb on Venusaur’s shield to slowly whittle it down and restore HP with your Shell Bell item.
In terms of teammates, we would just recommend teaming up with a whole bunch of other Chesnaughts. You would have to make a couple more Chesnaughts battle-ready, which will take a bit – that being said, most of the 7 Star Raid Events are difficult enough that you usually have to do this anyway. 7 Star Venusaur is no exception! Chesnaught winds up being the best pick because it resists Venusaur’s attacks and hits on the physical side. Since Venusaur uses Amnesia to boost its Sp. Defense, special moves aren’t recommended here.
Chesnaught worked out best for us, but how about you? Did you manage to clear 7 Star Venusaur with a different Pokemon? If so, feel free to share down below.
