Pokemon TV app to be discontinued, including on Switch
The Pokemon Company today announced that it will be discontinuing its official Pokemon TV app.
It will not longer be available for download on January 8, 2024 – that’s today. This applies to the Switch eShop, App Store, Google Play, Roku Channel Store, Amazon Appstore, and Pokemon.com.
The app itself will go permanently offline on March 28, 2024. Once that date arrives, users will no longer be able to watch any content.
The Pokemon TV app has been on Switch since August 2021, though it’s been available elsewhere even longer. Fans were able to watch “hundreds of episodes” from from anime, full seasons included. It also offered animated specials as well as Pokemon Trading Card Game and video game competitions.
