Raimais is this week’s Arcade Archives game on Switch
Continuing to expand the Arcade Archives label of classic arcade games, Hamster has announced that this week’s addition will be the maze game Raimais. Check out some details on Raimais below from the International Arcade Museum.
Raimais is a maze chase arcade game originally released by Taito in 1988.
Game Play
You move around a maze and try to collect all the dots without colliding with the other vehicles. Pick-up the other items for sheilds, lasers, etc. Once all the dots have been collected, several exits will open on the outside of the maze to travel to the next screen.
The game is played from a top-down perspective as players control a vehicle in 4 directions. It does not have simultaneous multiplayer, but does have a two-player mode where both players take turns to compete for a higher score.
Screenshots of this Arcade Archives Raimais port shared by Hamster show some enemies and cutscenes, which were exclusive to the Japanese version of the arcade cabinet.
Arcade Archives Raimais is scheduled to launch digitally tomorrow on November 18, and will cost $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29 on the Switch eShop.
