Resident Evil Revelations Collection won’t have a physical release in Europe

Next week, Capcom is launching Resident Evil Revelations Collection. It’s a package of both Resident Evil Revelations games for Switch that will be sold in stores. Capcom will also be offering the two titles physically in Japan.

In Europe, it’s another story. PAL regions will only have access to the Resident Evil Revelations titles for Switch digitally. Capcom has confirmed that it has no plans for a physical version in Europe.

Explaining the reasoning here, Capcom said:

“Capcom has to take various factors into account when deciding what format to deliver our titles to our fans. These can include but are not limited to overall production costs, manufacturing times, distribution, and first party regulations. In the case of Resident Evil Revelations, we’ve found that unfortunately it’s not viable for Capcom Europe to create a physical version of the title on Nintendo Switch for our territories, however we will be making this available as a digital release.”

It should be noted that there is a catch with the Resident Evil Revelations Collection in North America. While the first game will be sold on a cartridge, the second title is only included in the package as a download code that can be redeemed on the eShop. Only Japan is getting access to both games physically.
