[Review] Resident Evil: Revelations HD (Wii U)

Posted on May 21, 2013 by (@NE_Austin) in Features, Reviews, Wii U, Wii U eShop

The bottom line…?

As a standalone game, Resident Evil: Revelations HD manages to blend survival horror with action horror in some great ways. More than anything it reminds me of a “good” (as opposed to “great”) version of the beloved Resident Evil 4, which for a lot of people is reason enough to buy it.

If you’ve already played through it on 3DS and you’re on the fence about buying it a second time, you should probably pass on the HD version. If, however, you’ve never played Revelations, this is definitely one you’ll want to pick up.

Buy this game if…

… you enjoy games like Dead Space and Resident Evil 4, or you’re simply looking for a good action/survival horror game after being let down by Resident Evil’s 5 and 6.

Don’t buy this game if…

… you dislike being frightened by a game, or you can’t stand games with somewhat absurd or senseless storylines. Additionally, if visual fidelity is a game breaker, you may want to stay away.
