Anthrax five-pack, plus The Doobie Brothers, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Atreyu and Buckcherry come to Rock Band next week
Cambridge, Mass. – Sept. 24, 2010 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a five pack of Anthrax songs, plus tracks from The Doobie Brothers, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Atreyu and Buckcherry will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and WiiTM.
With more than 400 artists and more than 1,800 songs available through the Rock Band platform, as well as more than 73 million songs sold through its download store alone, Rock Band is the undisputed sales and content leader in the interactive music space, providing the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums. Rock Band 3 will be available Oct. 26 in North America and Oct. 29 in the rest of the world, giving players immediate access to a music library approaching 2,000 songs playable in Rock Band 3 at launch with new content added weekly to the Rock Band Music Store. Rock Band DLC additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii
It’s already been announced that the Anthrax fan-favorite, “Caught in a Mosh” will be featured on the Rock Band 3 soundtrack, but next week, fans can get an early taste of Anthrax with a five-pack of the band’s songs, spanning their career. Anthrax, one of the most popular thrash metal bands of the 1980s, will make their Rock Band debut next week with “Among the Living” and “Indians,” both from the band’s 1987 breakthrough Gold-certified album, Among the Living; as well as “I’m the Man” from the EP of the same name, and live versions of “Madhouse (Live)” and “Metal Thrashing Mad (Live).” Anthrax is touring the United States this fall. Fans can play their song, “China Grove,” on the Rock Band 3 disc but will get an early taste of the band with two tracks next week. “Listen to the Music,” from the band’s second album, Toulouse Street, as well as “Long Train Runnin’” from the band’s two-time Platinum third album, The Captain and Me, will be both available in the Rock Band Music Store next week. The Doobie Brothers will release their new album, World Gone Crazy, the same date that these songs are available in Rock Band. The band is offering a limited edition bundle featuring an autographed copy of the World Gone Crazy Deluxe CD/DVD plus the new World Tour T-Shirt. New Jersey-formed American rockers My Chemical Romance will make their Rock Band debut next week as well with “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” from the band’s second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and the band’s first UK No. 1 single, “Welcome to the Black Parade” from the band’s third album, The Black Parade.
And to keep the debut theme going, Atreyu will make their Rock Band debut next week as well with “Coffin Nails,” from the American metalcore band’s fifth album, Congregation of the Damned. We’re also adding more 30 Seconds to Mars, with “Closer to the Edge” and Buckcherry, with “Out of Line.”

Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii versions support downloadable content.Downloadable content for Wii is purchased via the in-game Rock Band Music Store using Wii PointsTM purchased through the WiiTM Shop Channel and can be downloaded to the system memory or to an SD card for additional storage. The tracks stream directly from the SD card for seamless play.
